AX3116为一颗脉波宽度调变输出（PWM）的异步直流转换器，输入电压范围可由最低4.5伏特到最高24伏特，输出电压可以依需要调整最低可以至0.8伏特且输出电流可高达5A , 非常适合于液晶/电浆电视，数字IAD产品，网络系统等装置的电压转换。
AX3116应用上可提供高转换效能(可达91% at 5A loading)及稳定的工作电压，输出范围为0%~100% duty cycle，并具有enable pin用于开关功能，其内部具有完整的系统保护功能包括可调式软启动(adjustable soft-start)、短路保护(SCP) 、过温度保护(OTP)及可调式过电流保护(adjustable OCP)功能，切换频率固定为330KHz。
AX3116采用标准的SOP-8L-EP无铅封装与极少的外部组件可大幅缩小印刷电路板的面积，具有散热片可以将热导至印刷电路板上，大幅降低组件表面温度以符合客户需求。
AX3116-PWM Control 5A Step-Down Converter
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
AX3116 consists of step-down switching regulator with PWM control. These deviseinclude a reference voltage source, oscillation circuit, error amplifier, internal PMOS and etc.
AX3116 provides low-ripple power, high efficiency, and excellent transient characteristics. The PWM control circuit is able to the duty ratio linearly form 0 up to 100%. An enable function, an over current protect function and short circuit protect function are built inside,and when OCP or SCP happens, the operation frequency will be reduced. Also, an internalcompensation block is built in to minimum external component count.
With the addition of an internal P-channel Power MOS, a coil, capacitors, and a diode connected externally, these ICs can function as step-down switching regulators. They serve as ideal power supply units for portable devices when coupled with the SOP-8L-EP package, providing such outstanding features as low current consumption. Since this converter can accommodate an input voltage up to 23V, it is also suitable for the operation via an AC adapter.
