1. 防静电
LED产品在加工生产的过程中要采取防静电措施，如：工作台要接地，工人要穿防静电服装，带防静电环，以及带防静电手套等，有条件的可以安装防静电离子风机，同时要保证生产车间的湿度在65%左右，以免空气过于干燥产生静电，尤其是绿色LED容易被静电损坏。另外，不同质量档次的LED抗静电能力也不一样，质量档次高的LED抗静电能力要强一些。
2. 应使用直流恒流电源
有些生产厂家为了降低产品成本采用“阻容降压”方式给LED产品供电，这样会直接影响LED产品的寿命。应采用专用开关电源（最好是恒流源）给LED产品供电，这样就不会影响产品的使用寿命，尽管产品成本相对较高。
3. 温度升高会使LED内阻变小
当外界环境温度升高后，LED光源内阻会减小，若使用稳压电源供电会造成LED工作电流升高，当超过其额定工作电流后，会影响LED产品的使用寿命，严重的会将LED光源“烧坏”，因此应选用恒流源供电，以保证LED的工作电流不受外界温度的影响。
4. LED产品的密封
LED产品经常要应用于室外，同样面临着防水、防潮的密封问题，如果处理不好就会直接影响LED产品的使用寿命。有些对产品质量要求比较高的生产厂家采用传统的环氧树脂“浇灌”的方法来密封LED产品，这种方法操作起来比较麻烦，对于体积较大的LED产品（如LED护栏灯）不是很适合，还会造成产品重量的增加。
5. LED护栏灯的控制技术
目前LED护栏灯应用最广泛的控制技术是“串行通讯”方式。其优点是每支护栏灯无特定的“编码”，每支之间可任意调换，便于生产及工程安装。但其最大的缺点是一旦有一支损坏，就会直接影响其后面的所有护栏灯，对于几百甚至几千米的护栏灯工程，因外界因素及产品本身质量等因素的影响，很难保证每一支护栏灯都不出现问题，因此，一支护栏灯出现问题即造成部分护栏灯的瘫痪。
