螨虫是隶属于节肢动物门蛛形纲蜱螨亚纲的一类体型微小的动物，身体大小一般在0.5毫米左右，有些小到0.1毫米，大多数种类小于1毫米。螨虫和蜘蛛同属蛛形纲，成虫有4对足，一对触须，无翅和触角，身体不分头、胸和腹三部分，而是融合为一囊状体，有别于昆虫。
螨虫危害
目前发现的40多种室内螨中，有10多种与人体疾病有关。诸如革螨、恙螨、疥螨、蠕螨、粉螨、尘螨和蒲螨等可叮人吸血、侵害皮肤，引起"酒糟鼻"、蠕螨症、过敏症、尿路螨症、肺螨症、肠螨症和疥疮，严重危害人类的身体健康。
