轴承合金很多，常用的有锡基、铅基合金 又称巴氏合金，应用最广。
锡基轴承合金锡为主加入定量锑、铜等元素的合金，熔点较低。常用牌号为zchsnsb11-6、zchsnsb4-4、8-8、12-4-10、8-4……。锡基轴合金具有较高的耐磨性、导热性、耐蚀性和嵌藏性，工作温度不超过150℃，价格高。广泛用于重型动力机械，如汽轮机，涡轮机和内燃机等大型机器的高速轴瓦;压缩机、球磨机、打浆机轴承.轴瓦;轧钢机、烘缸机、榨机轴承.轴瓦;船舶机械、化工机械、矿山机械轴承.轴瓦;磨床支架滑块、机械密封等用途。
铅基轴承合金是以铅为主要元素，为提高硬度和强度加入少量的锡、铜、锑、常用牌号为zchpbsb16-16-2、20-15-1.5、10-15、15-5、1-16-1……。铅基轴承合金的强度、硬度、耐蚀性和导热性都不如锡基轴合金，但其成本低，高温强度好，有自润滑性。常用于低速、低载条件下工作的设备，如汽车、拖拉机曲轴的轴承.轴瓦;粉碎机、风机轴承.轴瓦;和电梯吊索具钢丝绳紧固、机件空间充填……等。
