高频无极灯由高频发生器、耦合器和灯泡三部分组成，
●高频发生器
高频发生器主要包括振荡器、滤波器、整流器、开关器件、匹配网络、驱动线圈和电弧的等效电路。它为耦合器提供一个高频能量来激发和维持灯泡内的气体放电。高频发生器必须有一个很稳定的振荡源和过滤电路，同时，它还有一个高的功率因数和一个低的谐波含量。高频发生器的输出频率是2.65MHz。
●耦合器
耦合器是把能量从高频发生器经线圈耦合到灯泡内的器件。它由磁芯、高温线、导热棒、绕线架、底座、过渡件和同轴电缆组成。
磁芯和高温线的作用是产生高频磁场。通过中间的导热棒，线圈产生的多余的热能和放电通过铝制底座传导到外面。底座有两种功能：一是保证灯泡和耦合器的连接;二是把多余的热传给散热片，这个散热片必须是灯具的一部分。通过螺丝与灯具散热片连接。
●灯泡
灯泡主要是一玻璃灯泡，主要由涂有保护膜和三基色荧光粉的泡壳、内管、汞齐、辅助汞齐等以及灯头组成，内部充有低气压汞和惰性缓冲气体。
其工作原理是：将高频电磁场能量以感应方式耦合到灯泡内，使灯泡内的气体被击穿形成等离子体，等离子体受激原子返回基态时，辐射出254nm的紫外线，灯泡内荧光粉受到紫外线激发而发出可见光。
