EMS 310-01 thermally conductive epoxy provides the following product characteristics.
| Technology | Epoxy-Amine |
Chemical type | Epoxy |
Appearance uncured | Black Paste |
Appearance cured | Dull Black Solid |
Components | One Component |
Cure | Heat Cure |
Typical Application | Heat sink bonding |
Key Substrates | Metals, ceramics |
Other Application | Structural adhesive |
Dispense Method | Stencil |
Wet Strength | High |
Operating Temperature | -40 to 180oC |
310-01 is a one component, heat cured epoxy adhesive. It has excellent thermal conductivity and bond strength. 310-01 is a good choice for high speed production lines because it has the rheology to allow stencil printing and a fast, one component, heat cure.
n Advantage
ü Ease of use
ü Thermal conductivity
ü Dissipation of heat from embedded components
ü Stencil printable
ü Rapid placement of adhesive in production
ü Direct replacement of solder paste. No complicated adaptation is required.

DIRECTION FOR USE
1.After storage in a refrigerator the adhesive must be allowed to equilibrate to room temperature before use, typically4hours. The product has a typical work life of 7 days if dispensed directly from the syringe package.
2.Avoid cross contamination with other epoxy or acrylic adhesives by ensuring dispense nozzles, adapters, and so on are thoroughly cleaned.
3.Do not leave dirty nozzles on dispensing equipment while not in use or soaking in solvents for long periods of time.
4.The quantity of adhesive dispensed will depend on the dispense pressure, time, nozzle size and temperature.
5.These parameters will vary depending on the type of dispensing system use and should be optimized ordingly.
n HANDLING AND STORAGE
The mendations described in this section are provided as general guidance for minimizing exposure when handling this product. Because usage conditions will vary depending on customer application, specific safe handling procedures should be developed by a person knowledgeable in the intended usage conditions and equipment. Employees must be properly trained in safe handling of this product prior to use.
Personal Protection:This product can cause eye irritation. Prevent eye contact through the use of chemical safety glasses, splash-proof goggles, or face shields. This product can cause irritation and may cause allergic skin reactions. Wear appropriate gloves. If necessary, a proper chemical
Resistant apron and additional impervious clothing should be used to prevent skin contact and contamination of clothing. Normal work clothing should be washed before re-use. Wash hands and face thoroughly after handling this product and before eating, drinking, or smoking. Emergency eye wash facilities and safety shower should be available.
Ventilation mendations and Respiratory Protection:Provide effective mechanical exhaust ventilation to draw vapors, mists, or fumes generated during processing away from the worker and prevent routine inhalation. This is necessary especially during elevated temperature processing. Ventilation must be sufficient to maintain airborne levels of Section 2 ingredients below their PEL/TLV values. Use
an appropriate, properly fitted respirator if exposures exceed PEL/TLV values. The type of protection selected (SCBA, air purifying, etc.) will depend upon the conditions of use. Observe OSHA regulations for respiratory protection (29 CFR 1910.134).
Storage:Store in a cool, dry location with adequate ventilation. Keep container tightly sealed when not in use. Keep away from open flames and heat sources. Consult the product Technical Bulletin for detailed storage information.
