Lubricating grease for low-speed rolling bearings

This heavy-duty grease for slow-running
heavily loaded rolling bearings
is based on a highly viscous mineral
oil and a special lithium soap.
The high base oil viscosity
(ISO VG 1500) combined with
special EP and AW additives,
ensures high lubricating film
strength and wear protection.
The solid lubricants (MoS2 and
graphite) contained in this rolling
bearing grease offer emergency
lubricating properties.
COSTRAC GL 1501 MG shows a
very good ageing resistance and
corrosion protection properties. Application notes:
For many years COSTRAC
GL 1501 MG has shown positive
field results in roller bearings
(spherical roller bearings) in
– roller presses (KHD Humboldt-
Wedag, Germany)
– two-roller presses (Maschinenfabrik
Köppern, Germany)
– Gutbett roller mills POLYCOM
(Krupp-Polysius, Germany)
– ATOX roller grinding mills
(F.L. Smidth, Denmark)
The roller bearings are subject to
extreme operating conditions:
n = approx. 10 – 30 min–1
C/P = approx. 2 – 4
Shock loads and vibrations are
another great challenge for the
rolling bearing and the lubricating
grease.
Thus, COSTRAC GL 1501 MG is
also especially suitable for the
lubrication of crusher bearings.
The adverse operating conditions
found in these applications require a
heavy-duty grease with a very high
base oil viscosity, in order to achieve
a favorable EHD viscosity ratio.
κ = ν/ν1 =
at operating temperatures. The heavy-duty grease must also
have effective anti-wear additives, in
order to fight high wear in the mixed
friction regime (e.g. during starting
and stopping of the rollers).
As COSTRAC GL 1501 MG meets
all these requirements, it is recommended
or prescribed by
these machine manufacturers.
COSTRAC GL 1501 MG can be
easily applied by means of automatic
grease lubricating pumps, e.g.
LINCOLN type M 1-15
WOERNER type GMF with VPA-Cdistributor
The ambient temperatures should
be above 15 °C, in order to ensure
