The ET17A is a hall effect gear tooth sensor with self adjusting capability, it is specially designed for a back biased application. Putting a bias magnet south facing the back side(no marking) of the device, it can measure the change of the magnetic field leads by the spinning of the target gear tooth and give out digital output while the change of the magnetic field is larger than the sensor’s sensitivity. The sensor IC is a mixed signal device with an on-chip A/D converter and logic circuit for digital sampling and holding and an open collector output which is short circuit protected, the bias magnet range is designed from 10mT to 500m
