1807年的秋天，拿破仑派出支维斯特去讨伐巴约纳，卡尔王子率领了一支在后来的1810年归并于Hannover的营队。该营队在自由城的Lonchat山上驻扎四周左右，并在次年的1月6日在此举办盛大仪式，拿破仑专门从巴黎送来旗帜道贺，后来这座山更名为维斯特。如今，维斯特酒庄就坐落在这座充满历史性山的西南坡上。

In autumn,1807,the Emperor Npoleon sent the 1st group of soldiers of the regiment of WEstphalia to Bayonne.Price Karl Friedfich von Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen led this battalion which was annexed later in 1810 to the Hannover legion.This battalion made a halt at Villefranche de Lonchat for a 4 weeks period.On January 6th,1808,his flag which came especially from Paris was blesses in the course of a ceremony which took palce with great pomp on butte"des chaumes".This hill was then renamed WESTPHALIE.Today,the vineyard of chateau Westphalie is located on the south and west slope of this hill.

This 2009 vintage is dark red to purple in the glass with a fragrant nose suggesting red fruits.The flavor has a pronounced blackberry dominace with a background of plum and spice,with a slight touch of pepper.
