In designing this series of machine on the basis of the original European compressor, special attention has been paid to the aspect of cooling system, filtrating system, control system and reliability of the compressor.

Compression Element
As we know, the element whose performance directly effects the operation and life of the machine is a heart of a rotary screw compressor. The LU5-90E series compressors have the latest evolution of the asymmetrical profile rotary screw element provided by Atlas
Copco Group.The Airtec factory located in Antwerp is well-kwon as the largest compressor manufacturer in the world.
The two rotors with asymmetric profile, which have the same diameter, are mounted on high quality, low wear ball and roller bearings. The high degree of sealing and the fine tolerance level used in the element also guarantees even, in small power ranges:

Electric Motor
Three-phase asynchronous electric motor, insulation level of class F, protection level of IP 54 with SKF bearing made in Germany, ensure high efficiency and continuous running without failure in a high ambient temperature. Its efficiency reaches even as high as 95%.

Belt Drive Transmission
The belt with high performance provided by Atlas Copco is of compact structure, simple intervention and long life, contributing to low operating cost.
For the replacement and/or tensioning of the belts, just remove one fixed protection (side panel). The special transmission design ensures proper alignment of the pulleys.
All internal parts of the machine are easily accessible, whether for a simple check-up, or for the most important maintenance operations.
4. Air Control and Adjustment System
LU5-90E series compressors are equipped with imported unload valve, more efficient and economical than before.
It can perform the ON/OFF regulation or frequency conversion automatic flow regulation according to customers’ requirements to improve the efficiency of whole machine and achieve energy conservation.
5. Cooler
Careful analysis of the flow of the air, as it is directed through, the principle components, contributes to maintaining the correct thermal balance of all internal parts of the machine, and ensures that the compressed air is distributed at optimum temperature. A correct low operating temperature guarantees dependable long-term operation.
The Air / Oil circuits are cooled by a high efficiency aluminium cooler blocks, which has been designed with a large surface area for a maximum cooling efficiency.
Coolers blocks have been especially sized to reduce to the maximum the temperature of both air and oil fluids for higher performance and expansion of components life time. It is equipped with three stainless steel hose, to reduce oil leak.

Electronic Controller
The ES3000 controller installed on the LU5-90E is a controller system that was designed for medium and high power compressor.
The controller permits:
Managementof all operation relative to the use of the compressor: pressurization, running dry, stopping and re-starting the compressor; control andregulationof the machine;informationon eventual anomalies;shut downof the compressor due to engagement of an alarm;visualizationof information on the machine’s maintenance programmer.
Keyboard
There are soft touch panels for:

Controller test operation.
Controls
Two displays visualize messages indicating all functional conditions of the machine.
The messages are all visible in a simple and clear manner and can be easily interpreted.
Two functional keys and two scrolling keys permit the control and programming of the card.
Signaling
Appropriate signal lights (LED) indicate the state of the compressor; operating under regulator control, power on, pre-warning and warning of anomalies and for safety purposes.
The Electronic Controller:

Energy Saving with “Intelligent Shut-Down”
Regulation with the ES3000 controller allows the user to considerably reduce electrical energy consumption in the no-load phase, through the “intelligent shut down” feature, by automatically calculating, cycle by cycle, the minimum no-load functioning time, based on air consumption and the maximum number of start-ups per hour programmed.
Once maximum pressure has been reached, in the absence of air, even due to lack of need, the compressor switches to no – load.
The energy saving is obtained by stopping the compressor, following the shortest possible no-load. This ensures:
- That the maximum number of start-ups per hour programmed is not exceeded;
- Immediate re-starting in order to satisfy a subsequent air requirement.
8.
TemperatureControl
While the LU5-90E is running under normal frequency, the air mixture flow through the unit and the water vapor easily separate out while the operating temperature is higher than +50℃. Simultaneouslythis could increase the possibility of condensation in the oil circuit.
To solve this problem,we have incorporated a thermostatic valve that can control the amount of oil being cooled, to maintain the required operating temperature.

External Pre-filter
The LU5-90E series compressorshave been especially studied with a large Inlet baffle to optimize the air flow entering in the machine for a maximum cooling efficiency and superior noise absorption.
It’s also very easy to remove for cleaning.
10.
Intake Filter
Intake filter built specially to intercept any solid particles in the surrounding air. It with a large filtering area has a large capacity of dust and lower flow resistance.
It can ensure proper operation and economic useful life of each component, and reduce noise significantly.
11.
Four Phase Air-Oil-Separator (Centrifugal, Diffuse, Gravity, Filtration)
The air quality of an oil lubricated air compressor is reliant on the scavenge system of the oil separator.
Air / Oil separator system of LU5-90E is designed to provide low residual oil content (2-3 ppm) in the air entering the compressor network.
The separator is equipped with oil director, oil draining valve, safety valve, oil inlet, minimum pressure valve and pressure sensor.
