Dream ADA-128最大支持128通道的数模/模数转换,而这一切都集成在2U的机架里,因为具备模块化的设计概念所以你可以按照自己的需求来打造需要的接口数量,并可插入多个不同的扩展卡实现不同的接口扩展。
Dream ADA-128的扩展卡槽有两个类型,前4个卡槽称为主卡槽,支持Dante、MADI和连接Pro Tools HDX的DigiLink接口(未来还会推出其他接口的扩展卡),你可以插入多个扩展卡而且扩展卡之间的接口都可以一起使用互相串接信号,比如你可以让Dante网络的信号跟Pro Tools双向互联,也可以分析MADI信号流给其它连接到Dante网络的电脑。而且这4个主扩展卡可以有自己独立的时钟,互相以不同的采样率工作。

其它的扩展槽专供输入和输出接口使用,最多可插入16个这种扩展接口卡,目前有两个模拟扩展卡每个卡支持8个线路输入或8个线路输出接口。另外还有一个数字AES3扩展接口卡,在一个卡上可以支持8进8出的AES3接口。
最后还有一个话筒/线路的输入模块,提供8个话放。你可以通过前置面板的5英寸彩色触控屏幕操作,也可以通过以太网使用基于浏览器的软件来控制(电脑、手机、平板都可以),如果你有HDX扩展卡甚至可以通过Pro Tools软件来控制,因为Dream ADA-128会被Pro Tools给识别成一个Avid Pre 8机架设备,然后就可以通过DigiLink接口来发送信号去控制话放之类的参数了。
当你把所有扩展卡都插满之后,ADA-128就获得了128通道的转换能力,而且四个主扩展卡都可以一起工作。
ADA-128内部采样率最大768kHz(不过大部分的协议最高只能工作在384kHz下)。其核心的大脑是一颗ARM CPU,去控制多颗FPGA芯片,其中一个芯片专门处理信号流,每个扩展卡也都有自己的处理芯片,所以ADA-128自己知道有哪些接口在工作,甚至可以知道电量消耗的实时数据保证最经济的电力消耗,工作在正好的功率下,所以它不需要风扇。
