Klüberalfa® YM 3 oils
Sliding agent for oxygen valves and installations,
oxygen equipment in the medical sector and for pumps
Description
Klüberalfa YM 3 oils are fully synthetic,
non-flammable lubricants
based on perfluorinated polyether.
The oils have a good lowtemperature
behavior and a low
vapor pressure in the entire viscosity
range.
Klüberalfa YM 3 oils have been
tested by the German Institute for
Materials Research and Testing
(BAM) for oxygen pressure resistance. Application
Klüberalfa YM 3 oils are mainly used
as lubricant for seals in punching
machines, as high temperature gear
fluids and as sliding agent for oxygen
components which may get into
contact with gaseous oxygen at
operating temperatures up to 60°C
and oxygen pressure between 110
and 170 bar.
Klüberalfa YM 3 oils form a lasting
film protecting against wear of electric
contacts and prevent tribocorrosion.
When used as e.g. assembly
aid they are neutral towards most
elastomers and plastics. Their compatibiluty
with the materials in contact
have to be checked prior to
each application, if possible on the
complete component and under
conditions similar to actual use. Klüberalfa YM 3 oils can be used in
autoclaves. The product remains at
the friction point aven after 10 cycles
(example: Klüberalfa YM 3-30 at
134°C, 2.5 bar and 25 min holding
time).
Due to the formulation of Klüberalfa
YM 3 oils their use in medical equipment
seems to be possible,
however are subject to tests to be
carried out by the user for compliance
with the medical product laws. Application notes
Clean the friction points with white
spirit 180/210 and/or Klüberalfa XZ
3-1 before applying Klüberalfa YM 3.
Then blow the friction points carefully
with clean, dry air in order to
remove any white spirit residues.
The metal surface has to be bright
and free from contamination and
oils, greases, perspiration etc.
Ensure oxygen-clean application of
Klüberalfa YM 3 oils.
Before each new application any
sliding agent residues have to be
removed.
We recommend contacting our application
engineers to ensure maximum
service life. Minimum shelf life
The minimum shelf life is approx. 60
months if the product is stored in its
unopened original container in a dry,
frost-free place. Pack sizes
