微波无极紫外光源是一种在高能微波场中发生电离而发光的紫外线光源,它的灯管既没有灯丝,也没有电极,只在超高真空的高纯石英玻璃管中充入少量惰性气体。由于其没有电极,所以不存在电极与石英玻璃封装时电极导丝与玻璃熔接的慢漏气现象,由于其没有灯丝,所以不存在灯管的启动次数跟灯管寿命成反比的问题,(国外较xian进的灯丝启动次数大概800--1000次就会烧断)所以说目前无极紫外线光源跟微波紫外线光源是目前世界上寿命很长的光源。
微波无极紫外线灯主要由驱动电源,磁控管,微波波导,谐振腔,灯管,屏蔽网组成,磁控管就是一个微波源,他将驱动电源提供的电能转化为微波能,由微波天线输出,经过波导输出到电磁谐振箱(一般的金属箱体常规的铁箱,不锈钢箱,铝箱等)谐振箱内的微波由于反射和折射将充满整个箱体,也就是整个箱体内是一个高能量微波区域,位于此区域的无极灯管中的惰性气体会发生电离激发出140nm---400nm波长的紫外光。
