玻璃熔剂：长石是玻璃混合料的主要成份之一。长石含Al2O3高，铁质含量低，且比氧化铝易熔，不但熔融温度低而且熔融范围宽，主要用来提高玻璃配料中的氧化铝含量，降低玻璃生产中的熔融温度和增加碱含量，以减少碱的用量。此外，长石熔融后变成玻璃的过程比较缓慢，结晶能力小，可以防止在玻璃形成过程中析出晶体而破坏制品。长石还可以用来调节玻璃的粘性。一般各种玻璃混合料用钾长石或钠长石。(3) 陶瓷釉料：陶瓷釉料主要由长石、石英和粘土原料配成，其中长石含量可达10—35%。在陶瓷工业中(坯料和釉料)主要是用钾长石。
