分子筛是一种人工合成的、具有微孔型立方晶格的硅铝酸盐。依据其晶体内部孔穴的大小而吸附或排斥不同物质的分子,因而被称为“分子筛”。分子直径小于分子筛晶体孔穴直径的物质可以进入分子筛晶体,从而被吸附,否则,被排斥。
分子筛根据不同物质分子的极性决定优先吸附的次序。按分子的大小和形状不同的选择吸附作用,即只吸附那些小于分子筛孔径的分子。对于小的极性分子和不饱和分子,具有选择吸附性能,极性越大,不饱和度越高,其选择吸附性越强。
A型分子筛属于分子筛其中的一种,其结构与NaCl的很相似,属于立方晶系。由于4A分子筛的有效孔径为0.4nm,故称为4A分子筛,其空间网络结构由硅氧四面体单元[SiO4]和铝氧四面体[AlO4]单元交错排列而成。
4A分子筛结合钙镁离子的速度比三聚磷酸钠慢,且与镁离子的结合能力较弱。但4A分子筛可将水溶液中少量有害的重金属离子(如Pb2+、Cd2+、Hg2+)能很容易快速除去,对净化水质有着十分重要的意义。
对非离子表面活性剂的吸附,4A分子筛是NTA(次氨基三乙酸盐)和碳酸钠的3倍,是三聚磷酸钠(STPP)和硫酸钠的5倍,这个性质对于在附聚成型生产高浓缩洗衣粉中配入更多的表面活性剂,制得洗涤和流动性能好的产品很有意义。通过实验,4A分子筛的液体携带量≥30%,在洗衣粉生产过程中加入4A分子筛,可增加材料流动性,调节粘度,制得产品外观、流动性和抗结块性能力好的产品。
虽然4A分子筛的分散能力不如STPP,但通过与聚丙烯酸钠复配可以解决其对污垢的分散问题。
