镁合金特性:散热快、质量轻、刚性好、具有耐蚀性和尺寸稳定性、抗冲击、耐磨、衰减性能好及易于回收;另外还有高的导热和导电性能、无磁性、屏蔽性好和无毒的特点。
镁合金比重在所有结构用合金属中较轻,因此,在不减少零部件的强度下,可减轻铝或铁的零部件的重量。镁合金的比强度明显高于铝合金和钢,比刚度与铝合金和钢相当。在弹性范围内,镁合金受到冲击载荷时,吸收的能量比铝合金件大,所以镁合金具有良好的抗震减噪性能。在相同载荷下,减振性是铝的100倍,钛合金的300~500倍。电磁屏蔽性佳,3C产品的外壳(手机及电脑)要能够提供优越的抗电磁保护作用,而镁合金外壳能够完全吸收频率超过100db的电磁干扰。质感佳,镁合金的外观及触摸质感好,使产品更具豪华感,而且,在空气中更不容易腐蚀。
镁合金的散热相对与合金来说有优势,对于相同体积与形状的镁合金与铝合金材料的散热器,某热源生产的热量(温度)镁合金比铝合金更容易由散热片根部传递到顶部的速度,顶部更容易达到高温。即铝合金材料的散热器根部与顶部的温度差,比镁合金材料的散热器小。这意味着由镁合金材料制作的散热片根部的空气温度与顶部的空气温度温度差,比铝合金材料制作的散热片大,因此加速散热器内部空气的扩散对流,使散热效率提高。因此,相同温度,镁合金的散热时间还不用铝合金的一半。
