聚丙烯PP通常呈白色蜡状固体，无毒、无味，外观透明且质地轻盈 。密度为0.89～0.92 g/cm3，PP是密度小的热塑性树脂；熔点为164~176 ℃ ，在155℃左右软化，使用温度范围为-30～140 ℃ 。聚丙烯具有轻巧、耐磨损、抗菌性和易染色等特性，被用于服装、毛毯等纤维制品 ；具有良好的绝缘性能，PP被用于制造如冰箱、洗衣机、空调、电视机的外壳和零部件等；具有良好的化学稳定性、耐热性、透明度和机械性能，PP被用于制造器械；具有良好的耐腐蚀性、耐候性和可塑性，PP被用于制造建筑和建材产品等
