When burned, this network will contract, then consequently, trap the melted polymer, insulate oxygen, accelerate the carbonization of polymer, and therefore, makes the polymer flame-retarded. CG-PTFE own high Mw PTFE that can effectively fiberize and easily disperse into small particle to meet the antidrip purpose.

PTFE antidrip agent (figure A) has a perfect filament network, so that has the best flame-retardancy capability. Low Mw wax PTFE(figure C) cannot fiberize, and is neither flame-retardant nor antidrip agent.
