LUBRODAL C AE is a graphite compound originally developed for aerospace applications. It is
a suspension of finely pided graphite crystals with special stabilizing and protective additives in
a water soluble base. As shipped it is a liquid with the consistency of latex house paint.
LUBRODAL C AE may be brushed, sprayed, rolled or dipped onto any surface without running or
sagging. The vehicle dries by evaporations, leaving a smooth, high-density, close-knit layer of
graphite with a low coefficient of friction. It has high electrical and thermal conductivity. It may be
added to and mixed with a large variety of resins, solvents, pigments, etc.
The graphite coating contains no metallic additives or impurities. It is greaseless, oil-free, and will
not stain or hold dirt. The dried coating will not crack, melt or run at any temperature. It is
tasteless, odorless and non-corrosive. It may be buffed to a “mirror” finish. When no longer
needed, it may be removed with cold water.
LUBRODAL C AE has good resistance to animal and vegetable oils, greases and petroleum
hydrocarbons. The dried coating will not support the growth of microorganisms and does not
require a preservative.
Application
Stir contents thoroughly before use, as some settling will occur after standing. LUBRODAL C AE
may be sprayed, brushed or swabbed onto any wetable surface where the temperature is less
than 250°F. The lubricated area can then be rapidly brought to any higher working temperature.
If LUBRODAL C AE is too thick, adding plain tap water in any quantity can thin it. For the initial
application, surfaces should be clean and free of grease, oils, dirt, scale and residue.
NOTE:
If the surface to be coated is greater than 250°F, apply LUBRODAL C AA, which is a water-based
graphite coating that can be applied to surfaces up to 1000°F at time of application. LUBRODAL
C AE will not adhere well to surfaces that are above 300°F at time of application.
