ANDEROL BIO GUARD FIRE RESISTANT HYDRAULIC FLUID VS. WATER GLYCOLS
ANDEROL Bio Guard Fire Resistant Hydraulic Fluids – The FRHF series are high biodegradable fire resistant hydraulic fluids. The synthetic polyeste r based fluids have been specifically designed to meet the most stringent industry requirements, including spray flammability. In addi tion, the lubricants are readily biodegradable according to the OECD 301B standard. The formula tions utilize ash less and silicone free additive technology. ANDEROL Bio Guard FRHF series are fully compatible with other mineral oils and polyol ester fluids. ANDEROL Bio Guard FRHFlubricants are highly recommended for hydraulic systems in high, low or broad temperature environments that require a
greater degree of fire resistance than offered by mineral fluids.
Upside- Excellent pump ability under extreme conditions. Fluid life three to four times longer than competitive mineral oil-based products. Minimize equipment wear and deposit form ation. Fire resistance as it meets the Factory Mutual Approval Standard 6930. The ANDEROL Bio Guard FRHF lubricants pass the Vickers 104 C and the Vickers 35VQ25A pump tests. ANDEROL Bio Guard FRHF lubricants have successfully passed all tests for FM Approved products.
Compatibility- ANDEROL Bio Guard FRHF are compatible with el astomers, seals, and hoses generally used with conventional mineral based oil products. Care should be taken when converting systems containing phosphate ester or polyalkalene glycol fluids. Please contact the ANDEROL Technical Support Group for detailed conversion instructions.
ANDEROL Bio Guard FRHF VS. Water Glycols – Water Glycols do not have very good anti-wear properties and they tend to wear out components. As the water glycols evaporate the flash point increases eventually increasing a more hazardous condition. Water glycols actually do have flash points they are inflammable, but as water evaporates from the water glycol the percentage of water becomes lower and obtains a flash point that would be lower then the ANDEROL Bio Guard flash point.
Downside – More maintenance needed to maintain the water contents of the glycols fluids hands-on monitoring. The components (pumps, valves, actuators) wear out faster.
