Solutions for the right climate
Engines and transmissions in wheeled and tracked vehicles must withstand enormous loads and ensure high functionality even under the most extreme conditions. In both military and civilian applications for special vehicles, it is critical that a vehicle and its crew reliably retains its full performance even under full load and in extreme outside temperatures. We develop engine cooling and air conditioning systems especially to meet these requirements.
Complete cooling systems in use
We provide inpidual components, cooling modules, and complete cooling systems for cooling military vehicles. Our range of products includes coolant coolers, coolant- and air-cooled charge air coolers, oil and fuel coolers, and hydraulic fan drives.
The right climate in any situation
We develop powerful and reliable air conditioning systems and heaters for driver’s cabs and crew compartments, as well as high-quality cooling systems for the power electronics in the vehicle. Our range of products includes evaporators and evaporator blowers, condensers and condenser blowers, compressors, as well as piping and hoses for refrigerants.

Efficient and innovative—in materials and engineering
Diesel engines and transmissions in ships, railroad vehicles, and special vehicles (C&I applications), as well as stationery diesel and gas engines, produce enormous power output and are subjected to very high loads, partly in tough conditions. To guarantee the performance of these large engines, tested and efficient cooling systems are indispensable.
When developing cooling systems, our target is therefore not only high performance and optimal functionality, but also small package and minimum weight. Our cooling systems for large engines are therefore not only made of nonferrous metal, steel, or stainless steel, but also of aluminum. Well-known engine manufacturers rely on our expertise and our products when selecting cooling systems.

Top performance and long service life
Whatever the weather, agricultural machines are used in a wide range of climate zones all over the earth. Top performance is demanded of tractors, seed drills, and combine harvesters. They need to provide a long service life in dust, dirt, and rain. The driver is exposed to the same conditions. With our air conditioning systems, we provide comfortable temperatures in the driver’s cab so that the driver can keep cool even under extreme conditions. We develop complete cooling modules and inpidual components for cooling engines, transmissions, fuels, and various hydraulic circuits, as well as complete air conditioning units, modules, and components. We tailor our cooling modules and air conditioning systems to the varying requirements that agricultural machines are subjected to.

Making renewable energy more efficient
MAHLE Industrial Thermal Systems is a systems development partner for cooling generators, transmissions, and frequency inverters. Our cooling systems and components are used in onshore and offshore wind power and solar power plants, mobile and stationary generator sets, or industrial installations. When developing our systems, we concentrate on cooling media, such as charge air, coolant, fuel, and oil.

A cool head under high stress
Buses are used in the freezing cold transit routes in icy northern Europe and America, and in the tropical heat of Africa. These are most stringent demands faced by cooling and air conditioning systems in order to guarantee the performance of engines, transmissions, and electronics and to ensure pleasant temperatures for bus drivers and passengers. Municipal vehicles, such as fire engines, garbage trucks, street cleaning vehicles, etc., require cooling and air conditioning solutions that work reliably in the most demanding conditions. For both bus traffic and municipal vehicles, the safety of passengers and other travelers is of primary importance. This is safeguarded above all by the driver. Maintaining concentration and his performance at a level for hours is of greatest importance. The right atmosphere is thus essential.
The right temperature for the technology
We develop cooling systems based on proven and innovative cooling concepts that support the performance of diesel, natural gas, and hybrid powertrains. Our driver’s seat climate control systems provide a comfortable atmosphere to maintain a cool head, even in hectic situations and over long distances. One critical aspect with regard to safety is the ever larger windshields used on buses, which require a correspondingly high level of airflow to keep them free of ice and fog.

We use aluminum throughout many of our components in order to provide a satisfactory answer to the important question of weight reduction and lower energy consumption. We cover the entire range of services, from planning, to development and production, to comprehensive systems integration. Furthermore, we develop inpidual systems for every brand, every model, and every engine. We produce charge air coolers and water coolers that can be expanded to include oil coolers, fan covers, or fans, depending on the customer’s requirements.
