Monel400是一种用量最大、用途最广、综合性能的耐蚀合金。此合金在氢氟酸和氟气介质中具有优异的耐蚀性,对热浓碱液也有优良的耐蚀性。同时还耐中性溶液、水、海水、大气、有机化合物等的腐蚀。该合金的一个重要特征是一般不产生应力腐蚀裂纹,切削性能良好。

耐腐蚀性:
蒙乃尔的耐腐蚀性能一般情况下比镍铜更优越,它比纯镍更耐还原性介质的腐蚀,比纯铜耐氧化性介质的腐蚀,对硫酸、磷酸、碳的耐腐蚀性非常好。特别是耐氢氯酸的腐蚀,对热浓碱也有优良的耐腐蚀性。Monel400合金在氟气、盐酸、硫酸、氢氟酸以及它们的派生物中有极优秀的耐蚀性。同时在海水中比铜基合金更具耐蚀性。
Monel400属可变形加工的镍-铜系镍基合金,具有很好的耐海水腐蚀和抗化学腐蚀性能,耐氯化物应力腐蚀开裂性能强。该合金是为数不多的能使用在氟化物中的合金之一。在氢氟酸和氟气介质中具有很好的耐氧化物应力裂变腐蚀,如海水、盐水环境中。
在中等浓度的碱性和盐溶液中,Monel 400也有非常好的抗腐蚀性能。
在较冷的的碱性环境下,该合金被用在弱酸如硫磺、氟化氢环境中。
酸介质:Monel400在浓度小于85%的硫酸中都是耐蚀的。Monel400是可耐氢氟酸中为数极少的重要材料之一。
水腐蚀:Monel400合金在多数水腐蚀情况下,不仅耐蚀性,而且孔蚀、应力腐蚀等也很少发现,腐蚀速度小于0.025mm/a。
高温腐蚀:Monel400在空气中连续工作的最高温度一般在600℃左右,在高温蒸汽中,腐蚀速度小于0.026mm/a。氨:由于Monel400合金镍含量高,故可耐585℃以下无水氨和氨化条件下的腐蚀。
