'BTS series electric motors are built with an IP68 protection rating up to the flange plate and IP55 at the shaft. Through watertight sealing between the motor and machinery, a total protection rating of IP68 is obtained. They are designed to work while entirely submerged in water. Construction includes motors with polarities of 2 - 4 - 6 - 8, made from cast iron or with an iron casing depending on the model. They have F class winding with B class over temperature, standard V.230
/400Y or V.400
/690Y voltage and frequency of 50 Hz. The supply cables are jacketed in H07RNF neoprene rubber. The shaft is made from C43 carbon steel but upon request it can be made from stainless steel (AISI 304, AISI 316, AISI 420). The standard construction form of the motors is B5, standardized to meet regulations. The BTS series is generally used submerged – ensuring it is cooled – however, it also works intermittently outside of liquid. It is possible to build special versions with custom-designed shafts and other mechanical details upon request by the customer. This type of motor is used in underwater gears, submersible mixers and applications on board ships.'
