EXALOS offers a wide variety of standard Superluminescent Light Emitting Diodes (SLED or SLD) at different wavelengths ranging from 650 to 1700 nm, with different output power and bandwidth values and in various packages or form factors, including cooled 14-pin dual-in-line (DIL) and butterfly modules or low-cost uncooled TOSA and TO-56 packages. In addition to our standard products, EXALOS can also offer SLED devices withcustom optical performance and custom housing or fibers. Broadband Light Sources
For research and development or for production and testing environments EXALOS is offering benchtop instruments in various form factors. Our benchtop instruments are highly customizable and can be configured with up to eight SLEDs for ultra-broadband light sources. These instruments can either have inpidual optical outputs for each SLED or can be configured to have one common output where the spectra of the inpidual SLEDs are combined. In the long-wavelength range EXALOS can offer an ultra-broadband 350-nm light source from 1270 to 1620 nm with more than 40 mW of optical output power. In the short-wavelength range EXALOS can offer an ultra-broadband 170-nm light source from 750 to 920 nm. Please contact our sales team for more information.

Swept Sources
The EXALOS swept source (ESS) is a fiber-coupled turn-key laser engine capable of fast wavelength sweep operation (1 kHz to 150 kHz) over wide spectral range. The heart of the ESS is a MEMS-based micro-optic swept laser module in a hermetically sealed 26-pin butterfly package. Its resonant MEMS mirror provides low scan jitter and high phase stability. The compact and robust packaging enables high performance over broad-based field deployment. Both bench-top instrument and OEM-module (ESM) versions are available.

SLED Driver Boards
EXALOS driver boards deliver ultra-stable low-noise performance for both OEM and R&D applications. The cost-effective OEM version of the driver board allows customers to reduce their R&D spending, improve time-to-market and reduce the number of suppliers. The R&D driver boards feature a display board to control the most important SLED parameters. EXALOS driver boards are especially designed to handle noisy, spiky or unstable supply voltages.

The EBR370000 balanced receiver family covers wavelength ranges from 400nm up to 1600nm. The EXALOS optical balanced receiver (EBR) is engineered particularly to support challenging applications such as Optical Coherence Tomography where high signal-to-noise performance is critical. It achieves the lowest noise performance of balanced receivers in this bandwidth range. It features a compact design and a single supply voltage for OEM applications and allows for electrically switching the gain or for continuously adjusting the bandwidth. OCT Engines
The EXALOS swept-source OCT engine (EOE) is an integral system containing a swept source module, an FPGA-based data acquisition card in a commercial PC, and proprietary software that enables real-time OCT signal acquisition and processing at A-scan rates as high as 100 kHz. Because of FPGA-based signal processing, A-scans are generated with a deterministic latency and are streamed continuously to the host PC through a PCI-Express interface, allowing for video-rate B-scan imaging.
The OCT signal processing is based on k-clock signal acquisition, real-time phase unwrapping and an advanced linearization algorithm that achieves high-quality A-scans similar to off-line processing using spline interpolation. Spectral windowing, dispersion compensation and background subtraction are performed in real-time and independently for forward and backward sweep. The display engine performs video-rate (>25 fps) displaying of A-scans (2,048 points per array) and B-scans (1024 A-scans per B-scan).
