作为螺旋压簧的替代品，对顶波簧可以承受相似的力，但仅占1/3或更小的空间，从而可满足对轴向空间的严格限制。对顶波簧可提供普通圆线弹簧的变形和负荷，但其工作高和压实高度更低，结构更紧凑。

Generally the function of any alternately layered column of disk springs is replaceable by a helical disk spring. The increase of force is proportional to the operating stroke, because bending stress only arises in the spring band steel.
