For the past thousands of years in China, clay bricks were the most commonly used material to build walls. Because of the excessive consumption of clay resources, traditional clay bricks are prohibited by the Chinese government with only production of a newer generation of improved bricks. This new generation of clay bricks are produced using high-temperatures and are now commonly used as outer-wall covers or appliques.
