Tenite™ cellulosic plastics are noted for their excellent balance of properties - toughness, hardness, strength, surface gloss, clarity, and a warm feel. The mechanical properties if Tenite™ cellulosic plastics differ with plasticizer levels. Lower plasticizer content yields a harder surface, higher heat resistance, greater rigidity, higher tensile strength, and better dimensional stability. Higher plasticizer content increases impact strength. Tenite™ cellulosic plastics are available in natural, clear, selected ambers or smoke transparents and black translucent. Color concentrates are available in let-down ratios from 10:1 to 40:1. Tenite™ Cellulosic Acetate Propionate 307-15 has a plasticizer level of 15%.

丙酸纤维素（Cellulose propionate），化学式[C6H7O2(OCOC2H5)x(OCOCH3)y(OH)3-x-y]n，是由纤维素与丙酸、丙酸酐和醋酸、醋酸酐混合
液在硫酸催化下酯化制得的纤维素衍生物 。其CAS号为9004-48-2，密度1.18～1.23g/cm³，具有高光泽度、耐寒性及抗湿性，但耐酸碱和有机
溶剂性能较弱 。生产工艺包括水解、沉析等工序，冷一欣团队开发了SO42-/ZrO2固体酸催化法，陈伟团队提出介孔聚合物负载杂多酸一步法
合成技术 。
该材料广泛应用于汽车零件、电子设备部件及军工激光防护镜制造 ，还可通过接枝二乙二醇正十六烷基醚制备相变温度25~34℃的储热调温纤
维 。储存需置于阴凉干燥环境，操作时建议佩戴护目镜及N95防毒面具。
