蜂窝陶瓷是近三十年来开发的一种结构似蜂窝形状的新型陶瓷产品，具有耐腐蚀、比表面积大、气流阻力小、热膨胀系数低、导热性能和耐热冲击性能良好等特点，由最早使用在小型汽车尾气净化到今天广泛应用在化工、电力、冶金、石油、电子电器、机械等工业中，而且越来越广泛，发展前景相当可观。
蜂窝陶瓷比表面积大、气流阻力小，可用于汽车尾气净化装置中作为催化剂载体，负载足够的贵金属等催化活性组分，使通过的汽车废气得以净化。
蜂窝陶瓷可用于火力发电厂燃煤锅炉的烟气去除NOX净化系统、垃圾焚烧有害气净化系统、化学工业和采矿业的有毒气体净化处理系统中作为载体。
由于蜂窝陶瓷比表面积大、气流阻力小、导热性能和耐热冲击性能良好，可用于冶金行业蓄热式燃烧器中作为蓄热体，实现真正意义上的频繁快速蓄热换热、节约能源。
蜂窝陶瓷可用于化学工业、石油工业传质和分离工程领域作为规整填料，比目前该行业普遍使用的波纹填料在改善流体均匀分布、提高分离效率、解决放大效应以及降低填料层阻力和持液量以提高生产效率方面更为有效。
蜂窝陶瓷作为煤气燃烧分布板，覆盖在燃气灶具火口上方，能使热量均衡分布，提高节能效果。
