The system: measurement of form, roughness and contour
InfiniteFocus Real3D is an optical 3D micro coordinate measurement system for complete form measurement of cutting edges. Form, contour and roughness are measured in high resolution and out of every perspective. Users benefit from several functionalities of a coordinate measurement system and of a surface measurement device. The 360° measurement of drills, mills and other tap tools is performed with the standard system InfiniteFocus in combination with the rotation unit.
The function: complete form measurement of tap tools
Users measure surface features as concentricity, flank angle and relief. Also the thread pitch and the cutting edge roundness are numerically verified. The measurement of form deviations to a CAD-dataset or to a reference geometry is done automatically. The large vertical scan range allow the measurement of various forms and sizes. The measurement device delivers repeatable results also on ground or polished components.
The benefits: 3D measurement out of every perspective
InfiniteFocus Real3D measures tool geometries and cutting edges out of every perspective. Via the 360° rotation about 60 additional surface features are measured. The measurement and visualization in registered true color enable new evaluation opportunities in quality assurance and optimization of components. Complete reverse engineering is performed with only one technology. The high repeatability of the results is the best basis for reproducible and standardized processes.
The applications: tool industry and micro production
InfiniteFocus Real3D measures the complete tool geometry of drills, mills etc. The 3D form measurement device measures radii and angles including the surface roughness. All measurements are repeatable, traceable and with provable accuracy. Next to tool industry InfiniteFocus Real3D is also used for quality assurance in micro precision manufacturing. The surface measurement of injection valves, injection molds, micro gear wheels, spherical cups etc. are typical applications.
The technology: Focus-Variation for areal based 3D measurement
InfiniteFocus is based on Focus-Variation. The optical technology delivers a measurement density of more than 100 mil measurement points which enables form and roughness measurement of even large measurement areas and volumes. As an area based technology, Focus-Variation is already included in the most recent EN ISO standard 25178. With each measurement, users automatically receive data for evaluating the measurement uncertainty.
